My free draft for this essay on personal narratives had a lot of good to it, but also a lot of room for improvement. I feel while my thesis or position was solid, I definitely know that by specifying my argument even more it can be better. This goes for my topic sentences as well. The more specific I become, it opens the conversations up even more, enough for the conversation to flow freely. The peer reviews and personal meetings helped me see that you can never be too specific with your arguments. This is primarily what I am going to work on to improve my paper for its final draft.

My goals are to work on what I mentioned above. To be more specific in my thesis and then translating that into the rest of the essay. I am going to try doing more of a deconstructed essay, to clearly see each of my points. From there I can organize it more coherently, and explain my quotes more clearly. I want to truly explain the “so what” of my thoughts. Why does is matter that taking ownership benefits us and our stories? There is a lot to work on.

My biggest challenge is fulfilling my goals for my paper. To fix my mistakes, or to fix what needs to be improved upon. If I feel like I am really struggling there are a lot of resources that I can reach out too. I can ask peers to look it over, ask a professor to help, or try reading it our loud to hear the flow of it. I have so many different ways to help me if I reach a block, that I know I will be able to come out the other side with a satisfying paper.
