Recursive Writing Process

As shown in the image, my writing process is a little complicated. Yet I definitely think it has helped me create some of my best essays, all thanks to this class. Some of my helpful reading strategies are annotating the texts, reading multiple times, and summarizing key points to make sure I fully comprehend what I am reading. When brainstorming for a paper, some of my tools are doing a stream of consciousness where I write whatever comes to mind in relation to the paper, and gathering ]

interesting quotes and ideas from said articles. After that, I usually write a general outline of my paper, key things that I want to discuss, especially in relation to my thesis that I create. After or in tandem with this, I begin to free write about the topic and try to fit in the evidence where it feels write. Since this usually doesn’t end with a perfectly polished essay, some revision strategies I use are reading it out loud to catch small errors and hearing how it truly sounds. As well as that, I will revisit my thesis, splitting up each paragraph to make sure that each one applies and relates to it properly, sometimes switching up the order. Generally this cycle repeats until I get to an essay I am happy with, when going to some polishing strategies. Examples of this are reading it over once again, and making sure the paper fulfills the requirements. All of these come together in the end to create a quality paper, that engages in a conversation that an audience can properly follow and enjoy.
