Over time, language has played an important yet complicated role in my life. It impacts how every person sees, hears, thinks, and most importantly communicates with others. Without it, life would be vastly more complicated. Without it, communication would be nearly impossible across cultures and ages. Language helps to bring people together, especially when learning a new language. When it comes to different languages and cultures, the differences in languages makes it difficult if not impossible to communicate with one another. Along with those miscommunications, the openness of language leaves it up to the possibility of interpretation. While sometimes that may be good, it can also add a level of uncertainty or confusion.
However, there are a lot of benefits or good sides to language despite the communication troubles that it can sometimes cause. When barriers between language are broken, it is a beautiful moment where people can be joined together. As well as that, it can be used to help us learn, or help us spread information. It often shows the development of children, in how fast they begin talking, and what exactly they say. It can also be used in entertainment. If we think back to when movies didn’t have speaking in it, they were still entertaining for that time, but also very much left up to interpretation. Language has enhanced not only that field, but the rest of our lives greatly as language has developed. Without it, there is no way of knowing how much different my life would be.
