How often do you think you use metaphors? One theory proposes it is around six metaphors a minute. Metaphors are a vital tool used by everyone to clarify, explain, or connect complex or abstract topics. Believe it or not, this literary technique has a significant power and impact on those who hear or use it. The problem begins when certain metaphors have negative connotations, or reach the wrong group of people. Geary, Erard, and Khullar make many points on how different metaphors impact us day to day, and how they could change who we are. If used in situations where we are susceptible to influence, or looking for answers/connections, these same metaphors can give us answers. The impact of language on our psyche can impact how we feel emotionally, and therefore go on to impact how we are physically. Metaphors subconsciously impact us by changing how we think, speak, or act. The power of metaphors impacts us mentally and physically, depending on the person(s) utilizing them.

Your stance is very clear and I like how you introduced all the different authors! On sentence two I would maybe suggest changing the first ‘or’ (after the word explain) too ‘and’, I think it would flow a lot better. I would also suggest maybe re working the last few words (person(s) utilizing them) of the thesis so that it will flow as well.
